Paper Making Photography Workshop (for ages 4-7)
Akemi Martin cannot join us, but we can’t wait until when she will be able to join us! This Sunday, Corey Flint will be hosting a workshop on photography! As a photographer and FPL dad, he’ll show the group different views and how to look at light!
Spices from Around the World (for ages 8-13)
Have you ever wondered where some spices come from or how they’re used? FPL mom and Spice Expert, Christine Size will share where spices come from around the world and how they grow! We will sniff our way around the globe while learning a little bit about the history of the spice trade and how we use spices today. We will also sample some spiced goodies to eat.
January 25th
Painting (for ages 4-7)
Kate Dahmen is an FPL mom & Artist! She is happy to be back to paint with our younger friends, using a variety of tools to create masterpieces! We’ll use water-soluble paints, but don’t wear anything fancy today! We will be getting creative (& possibly messy)!
Nature Sculptures (for ages 8-13)
Art supplies are everywhere in nature, according to Artist Anne Forbes Van-Nest! She collects things outside, like bark, pinecones, moss, leaves, sticks, stones, etc. and combines them to create beautiful sculptures! She’ll share her treasures & secrets for a fun morning using nature’s art to let imaginations run wild!
February 8th
Valentines (for ages 4-7)
Join Preschool teacher and FPL member, Anna Bishop, for a festive morning where we’ll enjoy treats while we spread joy by making Valentines for our dear friends at Meals on Wheels!
Baking (for ages 8-13)
FPL member and Baker Extraordinaire, Mary Gaylord, loves to bake with kids! She returns this year, to bake bread with us! It’ll be a fun, cozy morning where we’ll bake, break bread and chat about how eating together is an important activity.
February 22nd
Owls! (for ages 4-7)
Have you ever seen or heard an owl? They are such magical wintry creatures and today, Lora will teach us about different kinds and share a true story about one owl’s adventures! Then, we’ll make our very own owls to take home!
Spiritual Autobiographies (for ages 8-13)
Join our Minister and Poet, Rev. Nate Klug, as we learn about the art of writing our spiritual journeys. What are the moments in your life that have shaped who you are? What are some images or metaphors for the holy that speak to you? Participants will receive prompts which will lead us into conversation and written reflection.
