Thanksgiving Special Offering: Helping our neighbors through the pandemic with the Lincoln Rental Assistance Program

As you would imagine, this year of Covid-19 has many more people struggling with challenges of all types.  Among them has been a major increase in the number of people who have housing issues leading to a dramatic increase in the need for rental assistance here in Lincoln.

There are currently eight families in the town’s Rental Assistance Program and another twelve who are on the wait list.  Lincoln’s Council on Aging (COA) has been helping coordinate the towns efforts for rental assistance.

This year our special Thanksgiving offering will enable the COA to renew and expand the certification of the Lincoln Rental Assistance Program to meet the growing needs we have seen in our community this past year.  By supporting the development of Lincoln’s Rental Assistance Program application, your donation will help leverage additional grant funds to support short term housing needs in Lincoln.

This needy group covers all demographics of young and old, singles and families, and varied ethnic groups.

Most importantly, the program is has been established to help enable the recipients to help themselves, and has a maximum three year duration per family.

Please consider making whatever donation you feel is appropriate made out to the First Parish in Lincoln, with a note referencing the Rental Assistance Program.

Thank you for your consideration,
