ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE: CLOTHING DRIVE ALERT!

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 14th, 1-3
We have just learned from Tara Riopelle, manager of Solutions At Work’s outreach programs, that she and her team are working hard to respond to urgent need, made more acute by the pandemic, for adults’ and children’s winter clothing.

At this time, the most pressing need is for clean, gently used, everyday, warm clothing. (No office or dress attire, please!) Coats, boots, gloves, hats, pants, sweaters, t-shirts, sweatshirts and sweatpants, new socks and underwear, sneakers are in great demand.

If, like so many of us, you are sifting through the contents of your closets and drawers, please consider donating surplus and outgrown items to Solutions At Work. This remarkable Cambridge-based organization, which is staffed by formerly and currently unhoused neighbors, is now serving multiple area communities from Cambridge/Somerville to Dorchester, immigrant populations and the Wampanoag Nation. You can be certain that donated apparel will find its way quickly into the hands of folks who will put it to immediate use.

Once again, we are confident that FPL members will welcome this new opportunity to serve. Because conditions on our end do not permit us to store contributions at the church, we ask that you bring items to be loaded directly into SUV’s for transport to Cambridge.

First collection date: Saturday, November 14th, 1-3 p.m., in the parking lot below the Parish House. December collection dates TBA. Stay tuned!
