Novelist and minister Frederick Buechner once wrote that if we come to church “right,” we don’t come in our best clothes with our shoes shined up but rather “foot-sore and travel-stained.” We come as we truly are, not with the masks the world normally sees. On this Sunday when we re-enter our beloved sanctuary after what seems like a long time in exile, we’ll remember our spiritual ancestors who knew, too, what it was to live in exile from their Temple, and what it was to come home. We invite you to bring your whole selves and join with us for this joyful “re-entry” into our sacred space. We’ll gather outside to start out, with music by our choir!! Then after Margit sets the stage in her TFAA, with children leading the way and Ian playing processional music on the organ from on high, we’ll walk in a procession back into our sacred space. There will be a special ritual to bless the space, Jenny will preach, Sarah will pray.
Worship Leader: Rev. Jenny Rankin
Deacon of the Month: Doug Crosby
We thank all of our deacons, staff and other lay leaders who have helped to make this worship possible. We’ll wear masks, observe social distancing and there will be no congregational singing.
