What are the spiritual roots that are at “silently at work” in us? Join us today as we consider faith. Is faith future-oriented, “the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen,” as the Bible puts it? Or is faith primarily a faithfulness to a past experience of  God or Being – “meteors,” as Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel calls them, “which flare up for a moment and then disappear.” The choir will sing Bobby McFerrin’s gorgeous setting of the 23rd Psalm, written as a tribute to his mother. And we’ll be joined by Julia Blatt from the Massachusetts Rivers Alliance for a Time for Outreach.

Time for Outreach
Julia Blatt Executive Director of Massachusetts Rivers Alliance will be speaking at the service on Sunday January 22nd. The winner of a 2020 Preston Grant, Massachusetts Rivers Alliance mission is to protect and restore the Commonwealth’s rivers and streams. They believe every community in the state has the right to a clean healthy river and every river in the state should be free of pollution.

Julia will be updating us on her work and how the Preston Grant she received has contributed to achieving her goals.

Julia will also be joining us at the coffee after the service to answer any questions you may have about her organization.
