The Forum | Role of Roxbury in the Revolutionary War
April 27 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
This April Forum is part of Lincoln’s 250th Celebration with guest speaker, Thomas Plant. Mr. Plant will focus his remarks on Race and Slavery in Roxbury. Specifically, what was the role of African Americans in the American Revolution? What was the role of First Church in Roxbury at that time? We also hope he will speak about the Black Hidden Heroes – why they served in war efforts and how they have been overlooked upon their return. Thomas Plant is a UUUrban Ministry Board member and Church Historian. He is a magnificent story teller willing to offer us a rare glimpse into the lives of some individual Roxbury African Americans and their contributions to American independence.
