Buddhism and Mindfulness for Everyday Life with Steve Schwartzberg

View our Introductory Session from February 26th here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4a-g7np48k&t=5s.

Regular meeting dates are the first and third Sundays of March and April (March 5 and 19, April 2 and 16), 7:00 – 8:30 pm. In the Stearns Room and on Livestream.

Buddhism offers a deeply intuitive roadmap for understanding the joys and sufferings woven through life, within our own hearts and in the world around us. Many of its core teachings easily find harmony with other religious worldviews, including Christianity. In this four session introduction and overview, we will look at the history of Buddhism and learn its core teachings, explore how these basic principles can enhance our happiness, wisdom, and compassion, and practice cultivating mindfulness-based meditation. All interested participants are welcome!

About the instructor: Steve Schwartzberg, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist and a dedicated practitioner in the Insight tradition of Buddhism, with over 25 years of practice. He has sat many intensive silent retreats both domestically and in Asia. His writings on meditation have appeared in the The Huffington Post and Lion’s Roar magazine.
