Today, on this day when the Search Committee will announce to you the name of the ministerial candidate they have chosen to bring forward to you for consideration and vote on May 15, we’ll reflect on the road we’ve travelled these last 4 years, and the deep discernment and work you have done as a congregation to prepare for a settled ministry that is successful.  We’ll name some of the “great expectations” that typically congregations have of a minister and reflect on the notion of “shared ministry,” the idea that ministry isn’t something one person does alone, but by two parties, congregation and minister, each one bringing their whole selves to the table.
