WHAT: This Gathering-In is designed to create a somewhat sacred space to hear where we are confused and perhaps even a little bit apprehensive as we proceed on our Racial Justice Journey.

We would like to define our success in this “gathering-in” by saying people shared ‘where they are, where they are unsure, where they might be feeling a little tender’.

There will be opportunity to reflect on where we have been on this Racial Justice Journey together and in breakout sessions.

WHY: Over the course of the past months, the History Module and the beginnings of the Issues Module of our collective Racial Justice Journey have provided some powerful material, provocative discussion, and lots of grist for increasing our understanding of racism as it exists today.

We hope that the Gathering-In exercise brings us closer to a shared understanding of what we might do (action) together – or separately – without being prescriptive and being either ‘right or wrong.’

WHO: FPL member Tom Haslett will facilitate the “gathering-in” assisted by various members of the Racial Justice Advocates, the Issues Working Group, and FPL Green.
